I've lived in calibre woods for the last 2 years. Overall, I think it is a great complex, and probably one of the better ones in the area as it is not overrun with college students, which you would normally expect so close to Emory. I have only heard of one instance where there were a couple of robberies in the parking lot, and the complex put a police officer in the lot where it was occurring and they haven't had any problems since. The area is very safe, and the complex itself is pretty safe. The area is very convenient for families - close to Emory, close to shopping and restaurants, schools, etc. When I go to the pool with her, there is a wide range of age groups there (seniors, Emory grad students, and families), which I think is a positive sign for an apartment complex in Atlanta. Based on what I hear from her, it seems like a nice place to live. I'm not personally a resident, but my friend lives in the complex. How was the area/complex safety-wise? Can I go for a walk with an infant during the day? How are the walls? Can you hear your neighbors through the side walls? I have seen a number of positive things from prior residents, but most comments are from 2007-2009.Īnyone have any recent experience? I am have lived in apartments for a number of years so I know the typical problems with problems not being fixed right away, hearing the steps of your upstairs neighbors, etc. My husband will be going in pretty early in the morning and coming home late. We need to be within in 3-4 miles of Emory. I am looking for housing for my family, including 2 young boys.
